Year 6, Game one starts today. The light at the end of the tunnel. The end of the last season, Jordan Poole was showing the Wizards fans exactly why he has loyal fans behind him and the faith we have in our PG. Starting with after All Star Break, Jordan was moved to the bench to be given the opportunity to play point guard with the second unit. That change immediately showed an impact on Jordan’s success, not because he’s not a starter but because he was played in the correct position alongside people that play the same style as him and they all actually made plays for each other. Jordan started the first 54 games averaging 15.8 points ts and 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds. Once he became point guard his numbers jumped to 20.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. Ending off the year leading the team to some victories, once against the Bucks with all the other starters out with injuries gave as us all a glimpse of what we will see this season.

Over the summer the biggest changed I wanted to see was Tyus Jones moved. Tyus was standing in the way of Jordan being PG and I could not stand it any longer. Tyus and Jordan played two different styles of ball and them playing together did the game no favors and Jordan no favors. I won’t get too deep into that because if you’ve been following my threads, you already know exactly how I feel. Tyus signed with the Phoenix Suns so now its time for PG Poole. There were some other moves that have been made and a few we are still waiting on, once we have the final roster, I will get back to how I feel about the team at its entirety and get some insights on thew new players.

If you follow me on X you know I really was hoping we would get some gym content this summer and we got more than a little. Based upon the clips and the pics Jordan has been putting in work this summer. You can visibly see the muscle gains which I think will be great for him on the court this coming season. Of course, we haven’t seen everything he’s been working on but we already know he lives in the gym during the season so it’s probably been non stop this summer and we can see it. In the video clips posted playing pickup with other NBA players including Wizards Rookie Alex Sarr you can see the improvement in Jordan’s game. I also like the fact that he’s been working with Sarr this summer to build that chemistry and get him prepared for the NBA. The true definition of a vet.

This summer has given me extremely high aspirations of what this year will be like for Jordan. The front office saying they plan to prioritize Jordan and the marketing for the Wizards starting to reflect so. Even though I have my suspicious with the front office because we all heard this last year but I’m going to let them show me with their actions. I think he’s coming for that MIP that he was robbed of in 2022 and coming to shut up everyone that ever switched up on him. I’m thinking with him now being full time PG he will average 26 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds a game.

This summer we have gotten a lot of basketball content but still just glimpses of the work that is being done behind the scenes. Just in the clips we’ve seen I have seen the growth in Jordan’s game, the best way to describe it is he looks like a more complete player. He was still quick but more controlled. I’m thinking Jordan will average 26ppg, 9assists and 3 rebounds.

What do you guys think Jordan will average this year? What were you able to access from the work we seen this summer?

Until Next time,

Welcome to The Poole Party

It was a cold Wednesday, for me at least in Ohio, I was already pre-stressed because watching a team that's tanking is not for the faint...

Another amazing post! If the front office stays true to their word, I believe we will see a new and improved Jordan from last season. He will be more aggressive, a little more selfish (just the right amount), set up plays for teammates, shoot more 3s and more shots in general, & overall be better. His numbers will be improved & hopeful he’ll be an All Star finally. If not, we’re gonna see a similar Jordan unfortunately from last season.
